Maggie Gyllenhaal Confused by Paparazzi

Maggie Gyllenhaal felt “important” when she was “swarmed” by photographers - before realizing they were looking for Tom Cruise.
The Dark Knight star and husband Peter Sarsgaard are usually able to walk around New York unnoticed so were amazed when “tons” of paparazzi came into a cafe where they were enjoying coffee, only to then be ignored.
“There were a ton of paparazzi in the cafe with their huge cameras and laptops. I was like, ‘Peter, oh my God, they are so into us. They’re swarming us. We are so important.’ It turns out Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were living on that street. It was the winter, so the photographers would go into the cafe to download their pictures.”
Maggie is currently promoting Crazy Heart, the first movie she worked on after giving birth to daughter Ramona three years ago, and admits she finds it difficult to balance parenthood with her career: “Every night you can’t put your kid to sleep, that’s pretty intense. In my family, that’s a big kind of get-together time - dinner, bath and stories and then bed.”

Maggie Gyllenhaal Puts Kids On Hold
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Universal, Foreign, Comedy, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, Upcoming Releases,
New mother Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s new movie has put her off having more children.
The Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang actress, who plays a struggling mother in the 2010 comedy, found working with five young co-stars and animals exhausting.
“I’m playing a mom at her wits end—tripping over things, with things falling on my head. That kind of physical comedy is exhausting. Especially working with five kids and sometimes animals.”
The 31-year-old beauty, who has two-year-old daughter Ramona with her husband Peter Sarsgaard, loves being a mother, but admits that it is very different from how she expected.
She told British Marie Claire: “Before my daughter was born, I was all, ‘I’m only going to feed her organic food, I’m only going to give her cloth diapers…’ And then, once you have a real child who is starving on a plane, you give them a bag of potato chips because that’s all there is, and they’re OK and it’s fine.”
Box Office Breakdown: Audiences Drawn to Funny People

When you combine the talents of Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow, a 1st place finish shouldn’t shock you. A $22.7 million haul? That is surprising.
Despite earning enough to displace G-Force for the weekend’s top spot, Funny People failed to bring the movie house down. The 144-minute length dramedy pulled in the lowest gross for any #1 entry this summer. While the film did better than any of Sandler’s dramatic efforts, it didn’t fall line with his comedic outings.
On the other hand, Rogen and Apatow had more reason to be pleased with the box office results. The Universal pic gave Seth his best debut since 2007’s Superbad. Meanwhile, Funny fell right in between The 40-Year-Old Virgin ($21.4 million) and Knocked Up ($30.7 million) for Judd.

Box Office Breakdown: G-Force Teams Up on Harry Potter
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: 20th Century Fox, Disney, Paramount, Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Animation, Drama, Family, Horror, Period, Romance, Science Fiction, Sequels, Comedy, Box Office, Lists,
Let’s face it: Daniel Radcliffe may be cute, but guinea pigs are cuter.
Despite earning $78 million last weekend, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince could not keep up the magic. The sequel fell to second place after earning a still impressive $29.5 million take over the past three days. Overall, the film has raked in $220 million to date and a delayed opening in IMAX theaters this Wednesday - Transformers 2 had been taking up room - should give the film another boost.
So what could possibly scoot the wizards out of first place? Rodents. Disney, which has already seen The Proposal and Up premiere on top this summer, earned another victory with the debut of G-Force. The comedy about a bunch of whiskered CIA operatives roped in $31.6 million over the weekend, just enough for a close win.

Box Office Breakdown: 30 Days of Night Sucks Up the Competition
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: 20th Century Fox, Disney, Miramax, New Line, Paramount, Sony, Touchstone, Warner Bros, Animation, Drama, Horror, Comedy, Sports, Lists, New Releases,
I never thought I would ever find myself writing this: ‘A Josh Hartnett-led film has opened at #1.’ Of course, he did have a little help from a vampire or two..
The horror film, 30 Days of Night, had an impressive debut for what was actually an unimpressive weekend. With only $16 million, the Alaskan-set vampire flick beat out a host of movies filled with Oscar-nominated stars. Ben Affleck’s well-reviewed directorial debut, Gone Baby Gone, opened up in 6th place. Rendition, starring are-they-or-aren’t-they-dating Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal, barely cracked the Top Ten. Meanwhile, Things We Lost in the Fire placed a dismal 15th despite the presence of Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro (and promotion on Oprah).
The success of 30 Days and the surprise return of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas - which placed 8th even though it was only in 564 theaters - clearly spells out the audience’s need for some Halloween fare. This bodes well for the release of Saw IV which opens next weekend. (Yay!)
