The fight between summer blockbusters has begun with X-Men: Days of Future Past and Godzilla, which held the number one title last weekend with $93.1 million. The monster movie remake was not enough of a pull to detract from the latest installment of the X-Men films, which took in $90.8 million.
Not only did Godzilla lose its top spot, but it also saw a 67% decrease from last weekend's pull, as its earnings was $30.9 million this Memorial Day weekend. Newcomer Blended - Adam Sandler's latest - debuted at number three with $14.2 million while Neighbors fell two spots to number four with $14 million. Julianne Moore: Hollywood Can Make You Feel Empty
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Independent, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip, New Releases,
Julianne Moore believes the Hollywood lifestyle can leave people feeling "empty."
The 53-year-old actress stars in David Cronenberg's latest movie Maps to the Stars as ruthless Havana Segrand, a fading star living among the Hollywood elite, and admits the character shows what can go wrong in the movie .
"Oh, I wouldn't say she's a monster, although it's true she does behave monstrously at times. She's one of these creatures that are very common in our industry, in that all of her self-worth and affirmation is projected from outside as opposed to inside. And the longer you live that kind of lifestyle, the more empty you become, until there comes a point when you just implode," she told The Guardian.
Moore - who is married to Bart Freundlich with whom she has son Caleb and daughter Liv - also says the film industry is too age obsessed, something she refuses to subscribe to: "You know, maybe that's a danger in any profession. But in the movie business it's heightened because it's all tied up with your face and how you look and the world's perception of that. But the only people who can affirm you are your family. They are the ones who are close to you. They're the only ones who can really see you."

Angelina Jolie Perfected ‘Maleficent’ Voice on Her Kids

Angelina Jolie perfected her voice for Maleficent while bathing her kids.
The 38-year-old star tried out a number of different way of talking with her brood - Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, seven, and twins Knox and Vivienne, five - to perfect the way she should talk as the evil queen in the new Disney movie:
"I would give them baths and I would try different voices on them, on different nights. I would tell them stories in different voices and sometimes they would kind of go, 'That's a weird voice mom, why are you doing that?' When I did the one they all started laughing and made me do it over and over again and that's how I discovered her voice because I thought, it had to be a voice that is just fun to listen to and get really crazy."
Although Angelina and her fiance Brad Pitt don't want their children to go into acting, they allowed Vivienne to play a young Princess Aurora in the movie, but getting her to do what they wanted on set proved harder than they initially realized.

Bryan Cranston: Godzilla Couldn’t Make Meth
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adventure, Remakes, Science Fiction, Celeb News, New Releases,
Bryan Cranston thinks that Godzilla would be "horrible" at making crystal meth.
The Breaking Bad actor, who sold the drug as Walter "Heisenberg" White in the series, joked about the monster not being able to make it at the premiere of his new movie at the Odeon in London's Leicester Square last night. "I think Godzilla would be horrible at making crystal meth. You've got to be very refined to be able to make it. He's a monster, you know, they have a very destructive nature," he said.
The 58-year-old actor, who stars alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen in the film directed by Gareth Edwards, also claims his character, nuclear scientist Joe Brody, is more like him than Walter White or Hal, who he played in Malcolm In The Middle: "They're all pretty different. I'm not like hal and I'm nothing like Walter White. Maybe this guy in this movie is most like me."

Quote of the Day: Gia Coppola on Growing Up on Sets

"I remember being on Dracula and Gary Oldman scaring me in his bat costume. He sneaked up on me, and I turned around and there was a bat tapping on my shoulder. And then I worked behind the scenes on my grandpa's movie Twixt. He enjoyed showing me how everything comes together and taking me through it all. That felt like my film school."
- Palo Alto director Gia Coppola describes what it's like growing up in the famous Hollywood family.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Friends Urging Him to Take a Break?
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Paramount, Biopics, Comedy, Celebrity Gossip, New Releases, Upcoming Releases,
Leonardo DiCaprio has reportedly "burned" himself out.
The Wolf of Wall Street star has been told to slow down by his friends as they fear his hectic work schedule is having a negative effect on his health and personal life. "Leo has been working like a demon over the past three years - and it's now starting to come back and haunt him. He's pretty burned out at the moment and suffering from insomnia from pushing himself so hard. Everybody is begging Leo to slow down but he's just very focused on making a lot of money right now -- to the exclusion of almost everything else," a source said.
However, it appears the 39-year-old actor has been investing his money wisely as he recently spent $10 million on a new four-bedroom apartment in New York. He also splashed out $8 million on an apartment adjacent to a $4 million home he already owns in the eco-friendly 2 River Terrace in Battery Park City last month. And in February, he spent $5.2 million on a six-bedroom mansion in Palm Springs, California.
