Mary J. Blige Says Sunglasses, Perfume Are Extension of Self

Mary J. Blige says her sunglasses range is an "extension" of herself.
The singer recently launched her debut line of eyewear, entitled Melodies by MJB, and says designer sunglasses have always been something she wanted to do because she owns so many pairs. Mary - who also has her own fragrance, My Life - said, "I have probably 1000 pairs of sunglasses. If you look back at my history you'll see me with glasses, lots of shades from Chanel to Christian Dior to Gucci. Sunglasses are an extension of me, just like the fragrance I did is an extension of me. I only do things that I know, that I've done for years."
Mary has previously said she was inspired to do an eyewear line as she was bombarded with so many requests: "Eyewear and perfume are different, but you have to put the same amount of work in. You have to be creative, come up with ideas and be inspired - just like with a song. Sunglasses bestow a certain mysterious look like a Bond girl. People were always saying, 'You should do an eyewear line.' So I said, 'Let's do it.' I want women to be able to hide behind their glasses but also be fashion-forward and comfortable. I didn't make any Grandma glasses."

As much as Kelly Osbourne invests in gym memberships these days, she may want to consider putting her money towards a new stylist after having stepped out in this lacy catsuit.
While I'm absolutely still in love with the Stella McCartney catsuit from last year, this Tibi jumpsuit is a far cry from it and not very flattering for Kelly. I will give her the points for her hair and makeup, though! What do you think of Kelly's pattern-heavy look?

Georgia Jagger Happy With Curves, Dad’s Vintage

Georgia Jagger is glad she has her mother's looks, because she can model jeans. The aspiring model - daughter of Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger and his ex-wife, former model Jerry Hall - recently starred in a campaign for Hudson jeans, which she said suited a "sexier" fuller-figured woman, rather than the skinnier frame of her older sister Lizzy.
"When mum was first modeling, it was all about that Thierry Mugler woman with the tiny waist and the giant a**. They used to pad their hips. I think it's much sexier. Lizzy and my dad are naturally skinny. I model jeans. You need a bum for those," the 18 year-old said.
Georgia - who has also appeared in a campaign for Rimmel cosmetics and has walked the runway for Chanel - also said she was shocked when she saw the sexy results of her Hudson campaign, in which she was photographed topless but covering her modesty. "My mum did a lot of very provocative work with Helmut Newton. She understands. It is pretty crazy, though. I didn't think that it was going to be on giant billboards everywhere. I'm sort of like, 'Oh, God!'"
She also added that she has managed to steal some of her father's wardrobe for her own, adding to Harper's Bazaar: "But just 60s and 70s stuff. The newer stuff dad still owns. Most of the costumes look iconic in pictures, but up close, they're terrible, covered in plastic beads meant to look like rhinestones. My dad has more sparkly stuff than most men."
Supportive Dad Richie Sambora

Richie Sambora will support his daughter if she wants to become a full-time model. The Bon Jovi rocker, who has his own fashion line, White Trash Beautiful, says 13-year-old Ava is already showing signs of making it in the fashion world after modeling clothes for his range but says she needs to finish her education first.
"It's so much fun. I did a photo shoot with her a few years ago. I just said to the photographer, 'Can you take some pictures for me, for my house of my daughter?' And she went 'Dad can I model?' The only modelling she has really done has been at my shows. That is where we are right now - her priorities are schoolwork and also I believe in maintaining the innocence of children. Before that when she is 18 or 19 she is going to do what she wants to do and I'm going to support her and help her through it," Richie said of working with his daughter.
However, Richie says if Ava does want to make it as a model, she will have to be prepared to work very hard. "Be very afraid and work very hard at your craft. There's so many people trying to get in. It's getting harder and harder all over, in every industry in every business," he advised.
Jennifer Lopez Shoots Gucci Campaign With Her Kids

Jennifer Lopez is set to star in a new Gucci campaign alongside her two-year-old twins. The singer-and-actress and little Max and Emme will be the faces of the Italian fashion house's new children's fashion line, with the campaign being shot in July by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
According to WWD, the images feature a sun-kissed Jennifer and her children wearing Gucci clothes and accessories, including sunglasses, while playing on the beach. As part of the campaign, Gucci will make charitable donations to UNICEF and the Maribel Foundation, a charity founded by Jennifer and her sister, Lynda. Jennifer had previously said she is keen to keep her family life private as much as possible because she knows too much attention could have a bad effect.
"We're not ones to parade the kids around. Marc is really adamant about that. He's really protective. We don't want them getting used to that life. It's a weird existence. I used to be of the attitude, many years ago, that I would just live my life and not care. But at the same time, you shouldn't just throw caution to the wind, because there are consequences to that lifestyle."
Self-Conscious, Prada-Loving Carey Mulligan

Carey Mulligan hates wearing revealing clothes. The actress says she feels "self-conscious" when she wears outfits that are too short or tight and likes to don clothes she feels comfortable in.
"I don't like wearing tight things and I'm self-conscious about clothes that are too short. Doing the red-carpet stuff is intimidating enough, so I'm wearing a lot of Prada, as the clothes are a perfect shape for me, because I'm bottom-heavy. Or else, I wear unconventional things, because then it feels as if I'm putting on a costume."
As well as feeling nervous on the red carpet, Carey hates posing for photo shoots, saying, "I'm not great at having my photo taken, so I often look like I don't want to be there. Staring down the barrel of a camera feels quite unnatural."
The British beauty also refuses to bow to the pressure in Hollywood to slim down: "I don't want to look like an actor. I want to look like a normal person. Normal people don't go to the gym six times a week. After I had my appendix out, I went down to 50kg and I realized that my brain doesn't work when I'm that thin."
Kate Moss Replaces Gisele for Vogue Eyewear

Kate Moss is to front a campaign for Vogue Eyewear. The British model, who has previously appeared in glasses ads for Versace, Yves Saint Laurent and Just Cavalli, will be seen in a number of shots by photographer Mario Testino in Spring 2011.
Kate replaces Brazilian beauty Gisele Bundchen in the campaign, which will also feature a selection of four sunglasses and two optical frames chosen by the model named Kate's Favorites, WWD reports. The campaign for the collection was shot at Syon Park in London. Kate is famed for her fronting of successful campaigns for fashion houses including Chanel, Stella McCartney and makeup brand Rimmel.

Another celebrity who avoids trends!
Emma Watson hates following fashion fads. The actress, who recently beat off stiff competition from the likes of Cheryl Cole and Kate Moss to be crowned Britain's Best Dressed Female, admitted she doesn't follow the crowds because she likes to be original.
"I don't follow trends much, because I don't like to dress like everybody else. I think that's why I hate trends, actually. But I do like to read fashion magazines so I don't feel so isolated. I think my own style is classic and simple. I try to be elegant, but at the same time laid back and relaxed. If what you're not feeling what you're wearing or if you're not sure, don't wear it."
Despite having fronted campaigns by iconic British label Burberry in the past, the 20-year-old beauty claimed she has had her fair share of fashion disasters. Emma added to Mexico's Seventeen magazine, "I've ripped dresses, the air has blown my skirt up, I've had bad spray tans. Actually one time my hands were orange because of a fake tan! I exfoliated them to remove the color, but there isn't really much you can do in those cases! It was hilarious."

First Look: Lanvin for H&M

H&M has finally thrown fashion junkies a bone.
After initially keeping their lips sealed with headless promos making fans guess who was to head the next designer collection, H&M finally announced Lanvin would be the line. Then there were the couple viral videos that showed a behind-the-scenes look at the campaign with the clothes censored and an Alber Elbaz tirelessly putting his creations to paper as two model French maids waited on him. In both instances, the H&M clothes didn't appear, and weren't expected to appear until the November 2nd online fashion show... until now!
