Mary-Kate and Ashley OlsenMary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have created a luxury handbag collection under their fashion label The Row.

The 25-year-old twins will launch a nine-bag line including a day tote, backpack, doctor bag and shoulder bag made from python and alligator in Barneys department store, New York in August. The siblings don't rely on a specific era for inspiration with Ashley revealing she is influenced by different times while Mary-Kate struggles with ever repeating trends.

"There are important style contributions from almost every era. Drawing on the right references at the right time is the key," Ashley said.

Mary-Kate added, "My problem is not with the trends themselves but the fact that trends are constantly repeating themselves."

Averyl Oates, buying director for Harvey Nichols, who stock The Row, recently claimed the success of the label is due to its "timeless generational appeal."

Sarah Jessica Parker on VogueApparently Kim Cattrall isn't the only one who doesn't play well with Sarah Jessica ParkerCarrie Bradshaw Parker and Halston have reportedly ended their working relationship.

The Sex and the City actress was the president of the iconic label until recently and although no formal announcement has been made by either party, the split was alluded to in a recent interview the star completed with Vogue: "When Sex and the City, to her own surprise, made her a fashion star, she launched her own design label and perfumes, as well assigning on to run the Halston Heritage label, a relationship that recently came to an end," the article read.

Last November it was revealed Sarah Jessica was not pleased the CEO of Halston Bonnie Takhar had been forced to step down. "Sarah has been a strong supporter of Bonnie for a very long time, and has been the sole voice supporting her against the board and shareholders. She has been fighting this for a very long time. She believed in Bonnie. She was emotional and upset because this finally came to a head," a source said.

Alice TemperlyAlice Temperley finds it "really sad" that young people no longer have a style of their own. The designer - who created Pippa Middleton's green evening gown for sister Catherine's evening wedding reception in April - says youngsters are trying too hard to look like celebrities instead of getting a look that's unique to them.

"British women of my age group are so good at being diverse and mixing up lots of different looks. Unfortunately, the younger generation model themselves on celebrities, which is awful, because all you see are highlights, tight jeans and high heels. It's all t*ts and lips. That's really sad," Alice, 35, said.

Alice also admits it's harder for new up-and-coming designers to get their break because there are so many celebrities with their own fashion line: "With celebrity being our new religion , it's increasingly difficult to set up on your own. Talented designers are more likely to work for celebrity brands or huge fashion house than ever before."

John Galliano at court

Today's hearing - which will be held in front of three judges but no jury as it is a minor offence - is expected to last between four and five hours, with witnesses from both sides giving evidence.

Christopher Kane

Kane - who counts the likes of Alexa Chung, Leighton Meester and Freida Pinto among his celebrity fans - admits he gets "bored easily" so is always coming up with new ideas for his creations because he enjoys a challenge.

"Every season I design a very different collection to the last because I like to learn new techniques. I get bored easily so I feel I have to move on. The pressure of that is good because it keeps me on the straight and narrow."
