Stephon Marbury Every so often on Dime Day, “Four Quarters” will feature one particular NBA team, going ten players deep into their roster. Whether it’s a small tidbit of news on the bench-warmers, or an opportunity to give major props to the all-stars around the league, as always we slant it towards the fantasy side of life.

Thanks to Dennis Velasco for the assist this week. He gave me some local tidbits of information on his beloved Knicks. So let’s dig into the Knicks roster and see what’s happening

All-Star week is upon us.  While some of your players will be competing in the skills competition, 3-point shootout, or even the slam dunk contest, lets face it…most of them will be chilling in their living rooms watching the events on a 70-something inch television.  Regardless, this week will not provide a lot of games played for any of the teams, so it’s a tough week to win in any format.  As one big shot in the dark, your best bet is to have as many two-game players as possible.  Preferably, those that are healthy as well…

Here are the rankings for this week.  First, lets scope out how many games each team plays…

Atlanta Hawks - 2; Boston Celtics - 1; Charlotte Bobcats - 1; Chicago Bulls - 2; Cleveland Cavaliers - 2; Dallas Mavericks - 2; Denver Nuggets - 2; Detroit Pistons - 2; Golden State Warriors - 2; Houston Rockets - 2; Indiana Pacers - 1; Los Angeles Clippers - 2; Los Angeles Lakers - 2; Memphis Grizzlies - 2; Miami Heat - 1; Milwaukee Bucks - 2; Minnesota Timberwolves - 1; New Jersey Nets - 2; New Orleans Hornets - 2; New York Knicks - 2; Orlando Magic - 1; Philadelphia 76ers - 1; Phoenix Suns - 1; Portland Trail Blazers - 2; Sacramento Kings - 2; San Antonio Spurs - 2; Seattle Supersonics - 1; Toronto Raptors - 2; Utah Jazz - 2; Washington Wizards – 1.

(Average ranking in parenthesis)

Chris Bosh is going nowhere but up!Stat’s All Folks will be a week-to-week stock market look at the standard cumulative categories – points, assists, rebounds, three-pointers made, steals, and blocks.  I’ll be calling out the “bulls” and “bears” in each category, in order to help you assess your portfolio of players on your fantasy basketball team(s) and whether you should sell, hold, and/or diversify your assets.

Note that you won’t always see the superstar player written about in this column, otherwise it would be LeBron James or Steve Nash every week.  So, check out who’s bullish and who’s bearish coming into the week.

Statistics are from February 1 - February 8

POINTS

BULLISH

Chris Bosh, PF/C, Toronto Raptors
Last Week’s Numbers of Note: 3 G; 30.7 PPG; 51.8 FG%; 87.2 FT%

Next weekend Bosh will be going to the All-Star game for the first time in his career as a starter (Thanks, Mark!).  And looking at the trends for this season and his career, it won’t be the only time.  In the past week, CB4 has flexed his scoring muscle like he owned Hulk Hogan’s 24-inch pythons!  Check the scoring average trend for each month: November – 20.5 in 15 games; December – 20.5 in four games; January – 25.4 in 15 games; and 30.7 in three games thus far this month.  In his last game, Bosh scored a career-high 41 points in a Young Beasts Down In The Box matchup against the Orlando Magic’s Dwight Howard.  CB4 even showed some clutch game by scoring 31 of those 41 points in the second half to lead the Raptors to victory.  And if you have Bosh on your fantasy team, he’ll do the same for you.  Brother!!!

Randy Wittman to the RescueWire to Wire aims to be your waiver wire resource for all of your fantasy basketball needs.  It will dive into playing time trends, injury replacements, and even an occasional category specialist – all of which can be found on a typical waiver wire within your fantasy league at any given time.

All-Star week is coming up, and that means one or two game weeks for all of the Association.  Looking a bit forward, the Hawks, Bulls, Knicks and Kings all have schedules that max out their games played for a three-week stretch; two games next week, and back-to-back weeks of four games following.  While shallow leagues do not have a lot of recommendations from me this week, owners would be wise to add any fringe players of those four teams if they’d like a bit of an advantage in the short-run.

This week will be hit or miss with a lot of players, as they simply do not have the full week to give you production.  Here’s to a productive All-Star week for all involved.

On to this week’s recommendations…
